CATERING & EVENT ASSISTANTS

We are seeking Catering & Event Assistants for upcoming events in Nashville and surrounding areas. In this role you will provide superior service to our clients and their guests at weddings, corporate events, and other social functions.  You will represent our company, so we are looking for friendly, attentive, and hard-working individuals. 

Responsibilities will include a wide range of tasks for event setup, catering service, and event breakdown requirements. You may be asked to help with anything from kitchen prep, equipment loading/unloading, event set up, catering service, and event clean up. 

The ideal candidate is a highly-organized, master of multitasking who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. Catering & Event Assistants handle pressure with ease and a smile and are always ready to problem solve. 

Catering & Event Assistants are responsible for the execution of catering and event services to ensure seamless client experiences from preparation to breakdown. Key responsibilities include: 

Catering Assistant: 

  • Support food preparations, inventory management and packing of equipment for transport to event locations.

  • Coordinate the delivery and setup of catering services at event locations.

  • Event setup including unloading, organizing and display for  designated catering areas at event locations.

  • Support the preparation and presentation of catering services, ensuring food quality and safety standards are met.

  • Coordinate catering service preparations including equipment unload/set up, table setting, buffet setup, and food presentation.

  • Keep the service timeline on track with support from the service team.

  • Food and beverage service during events

  • Assist with clean-up and breakdown of on-site catering areas after the event is complete.

Event Assistant: 

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of August & Co. client functions

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Assist with the setup of event spaces, including arranging furniture, florals, decor, and equipment according to event specifications.

  • Assist in inventory management, procurement and delivery of event supplies

  • Ensure all event spaces are clean, organized, and ready for guests upon their arrival.

  • Oversee the breakdown and cleanup of event spaces post-event, ensuring all items are properly stored and venues are left in pristine condition.

Experience is not required - on the job training is part of the deal!  If you are a self starter with the ability to learn quickly, and a desire to grow your skill set then you may be a good fit! 


Qualifications, Physical Requirements and Work Environment include: 

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

  • Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations is a plus!

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

  • Standing, walking, and moving around for extended periods.

  • Ability to perform setup and breakdown tasks, which may involve bending, lifting, and carrying equipment and materials.

  • This position involves working in various environments, including office settings, event venues, and outdoor locations.

  • Fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere, particularly during event days.

This is a 1099 Contractor position with shifts available for pick up on specific dates and times. Evening and weekend availability is best suited for these positions.
